Kamalvasini Tech (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Tuition Manager mobile application (package: com.kamalvasini.erp.tuitionmanager) and this website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.

Summary: Tuition Manager is an offline-first app. All your institute data (students, batches, fees, attendance, income, expenses, diary entries) is stored only on your device. We do not access, upload or read this data. Subscription billing is handled by Google Play.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored Only on Your Device

The following information is created and stored locally on your device's database. It is never transmitted to our servers:

  • Institute name, address and admin details you enter during setup
  • Student records: name, parent name, contact number, class, batch, photo, fee structure
  • Batch information: timings, subjects, fee amount
  • Fee transactions: amount paid, date, payment mode
  • Attendance records
  • Income and expense entries
  • Employee records
  • Diary entries: homework, exams, events
  • Enquiry records

1.2 Information Collected Through Google Play Billing

When you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed by Google Play. We receive only the purchase token and product ID needed to verify and unlock premium features. Your card details, billing address and full payment information are handled by Google and are never seen by us. Refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles payment data.

1.3 Information You Voluntarily Submit on This Website

If you submit feedback, contact form, or newsletter subscription on this website, we collect: name, email, phone number (optional), and your message. This information is stored in our PostgreSQL database and is used only to respond to you and improve the app.

1.4 Permissions Used By the App

  • Camera: Used only when you choose to capture a student photo. Photos are saved locally to the app's storage.
  • Internet: Used only for Google Play subscription verification and in-app update checks. Your institute data is never sent over the internet.
  • Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): Required to process Google Play subscriptions.

  • To provide app functionality - all institute management features run on your local data
  • To verify your active subscription with Google Play and unlock premium features (Backup & Restore, Late Fees, Additional Fees)
  • To respond to feedback, support requests and complaints
  • To send important service updates if you have subscribed to the newsletter

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal data with third parties for marketing. We share information only in these limited cases:

  • Google Play Billing: for subscription processing and verification
  • Legal compliance: if required by Indian law, court order, or to protect our legal rights
  • With your consent: if you explicitly authorise sharing for a specific purpose

4. Children's Privacy

Tuition Manager is intended for use by tuition center owners, coaching institute administrators and teachers. The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If a teacher uses the app to record student information, the teacher (and the student's school/institute) is the data controller for that data and is responsible for obtaining required consents from parents/guardians under the Indian DPDP Act 2023 and applicable laws.

5. Data Retention

  • App data on your device: retained as long as the app is installed. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.
  • Backup files: if you create backups to your device storage or Google Drive, you control them. Delete them yourself when not needed.
  • Website feedback/contact data: retained for up to 24 months for support and quality purposes, then deleted.
  • Subscription records: retained as required by Indian taxation and audit laws (typically 7 years).

6. Data Security

App data is stored in the Android system's protected app sandbox. The website uses HTTPS for all communication and stores feedback data in a secured PostgreSQL database with restricted access. Despite reasonable safeguards, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your device password protected.

7. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your data (right to erasure)
  • Withdraw consent for newsletter or other voluntary communications at any time
  • File a grievance with our Grievance Officer (details below)

For app data, you can clear it any time by going to Android Settings > Apps > Tuition Manager > Storage > Clear Data, or by uninstalling the app. For website data, contact us at info@kamalvasini.com.

This website uses only essential session cookies required for the contact and feedback forms to function. We do not use any analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Tuition Manager is offered primarily in India. If you use the app from outside India, you understand that your locally stored data remains on your device and that any feedback you send will be processed and stored on servers located in India.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be notified in the app or via email if you are subscribed to our newsletter. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
